CHICAGO – A patient of a Skokie ophthalmologist alleges he disregarded her complaints and she later needed surgery.

Tammy C. Tamraz filed a complaint on Nov. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against physician Scott Bornstein and Eye Care LTD, alleging medical malpractice.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 9, 2016, the plaintiff requested to be seen and examined by Bornstein. She alleges she contacted the defendants again a few weeks later with complaints of blurred vision but was told not to worry.

The plaintiff claims on Nov. 26, 2016, she awoke and discovered she had lost vision in her right eye and needed surgery the following day.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants improperly disregarded her complaints of blurred vision, floaters and headaches; failed to properly examine and test her condition; and failed to refer her to other physician specialists for consultation, examination, diagnosis and treatment.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in excess of the jurisdictional requirements of the court. She is represented by Stephen I. Lane of Lane & Lane LLC in Chicago.
