CHICAGO – A Streamwood care facility is alleged to have failed to protect a resident from falls.

Valerie Jean Anderson, as attorney-in-fact for Virginia Schenck, filed a complaint on Nov. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Westbrook Senior Living; Spectrum Retirement of Illinois LLC; and a nurse, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, between Oct. 17-Dec. 13, 2016, Schenck was a resident of defendants' facility and fell three times.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to develop and implement an appropriate care plan to address the resident's risk for falls and fall-related injury, and failed to provide appropriate monitoring.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in such amount greater than the court's jurisdictional requisite. She is represented by Paul D. Richter and Caitlin K. Finnegan of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
