Armstrong Teasdale issued the following announcement on Dec. 5.

Armstrong Teasdale proudly announces Litigation Partners Maureen Bryan, Robert Kaiser, Tyson Ketchumand Thomas Weaver have been ranked in the 2019 edition of Benchmark Litigation. Now in its 11th year of publication, Benchmark Litigation exclusively covers the litigation and disputes market in North America, covering the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

According to Benchmark Litigation, “the definitive guide to America’s leading litigation firms and attorneys,” they conduct extensive research each year and highlight professionals leading the charge in the courtroom.

Bryan, who was recognized as a Local Litigation Star in Missouri, serves as co-leader of the firm’s Health Care and Life Sciences industry team and is in part responsible for many of Missouri’s top-ranking defense verdicts. As a member of the firm’s award-winning Mass Tort and Catastrophic Loss practice area, she defends clients in litigation alleging catastrophic injuries as a result of medical malpractice, products liability and premises liability. In addition, Bryan represents clients in matters involving the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), and breach of protected health information.

Kaiser was recognized as a Labor & Employment Star – Midwest, and has more than 30 years of experience representing emerging and mature businesses in the full range of labor and personnel-related disputes. Because employment and labor laws and regulations continue to evolve, he deftly guides management in creating “fences” and boundaries to assess risks and decrease litigation. Kaiser routinely handles matters related to traditional labor law, wage and hour law, discrimination and wrongful discharge.

Ketchum was also recognized as a Labor & Employment Star – Midwest. He primarily focuses on employment, insurance coverage, personal injury and commercial litigation cases. His practice is unique in that he has handled high-stakes cases for clients involving many different areas of law. In connection with this diverse litigation practice, Ketchum has tried cases to verdict before courts in Missouri and Kansas and has argued before the Missouri Supreme Court, Missouri Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit. Ketchum also serves as deputy general counsel at Armstrong Teasdale.

Weaver, who was recognized as a Local Litigation Star in Missouri, has extensive appellate experience. His significant experience includes serving as lead trial and appellate counsel in commercial, product liability, insurance and eminent domain litigation matters in both state and federal courts in Missouri, Illinois and Kansas. Tom has implemented sophisticated post-trial strategies that weave persuasive arguments with legal and policy reasoning in over 150 appeals. In 2017, he was named Litigator of the Week for his work on a $72 million appeal in a case alleging that the use of personal care products containing talcum powder caused ovarian cancer.

Intellectual Property Partner Richard Brophy was selected for the Benchmark Litigation 2018 “40 & Under Hot List” earlier this year.
