CHICAGO – A bus passenger alleges the driver failed to clear him before driving away, struck him and ran over both of his legs.

Chauncey D. Douglas filed a complaint on Dec. 4 in Circuit Court of Cook County against Pace Suburban Bus Service, a division of Regional Transportation Authority; and a driver, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 20, Douglas exited a Pace bus at the bus stop at Mannheim Road and Schiller Boulevard in Franklin Park when the bus struck the plaintiff and ran over both of his legs.

The plaintiff seeks judgment of more than $50,000 and costs of suit. He is represented by Steven A. Hart and Ben Shrader of Hart McLaughlin & Eldridge LLC in Chicago.
