CHICAGO – A man alleges a chain at a nature preserve caused him to be thrown from his bike.

Juan Jimenez filed a complaint on Dec. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against The Forest Preserve District of Cook County, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on June 13, Jimenez was riding his bicycle on the Eggers Grove property managed and maintained by the defendant. The suit states on that date, he collided with a chain suspended by posts hanging across an entrance/exit from the parking lot to the paved path at the property, causing him to be thrown from his bike and injured.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to timely remove the chain across the entrance/exit and failed to make necessary and timely inspections of the property.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and interest. He is represented by Daniel J. Biederman Jr. and John P. Baglia of Leonard Law Group LLC in Chicago.
