CHICAGO – A wrongful death suit has been filed against a Forest Park hospital and physician by a woman over her father's 2012 death.

Beatriz Rivera, as special administrator of the estate of the Rodolfo Lopez, filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in  Cook County Circuit Court against Riveredge Hospital Inc. and physician Glenn Kushner.

According to the complaint, on March 20, 2012, Lopez was admitted to defendants' facility for treatment. The suit states he developed Clostridium difficile infections, dehydration, pneumonia, respiratory and renal failure and sepsis during the period of his admission. The suit states he died April 17, 2012.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly and timely examine and assess Lopez's condition, failed to provide sufficient fluid intake to maintain proper hydration, and failed to timely diagnose pneumonia, sepsis and other medical conditions.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendants of more than $50,000, costs of action, and further relief. She is represented by Jason E. Hammond of Hammond Law LLC in Chicago and by Salvato, O'Toole & Froylan in Chicago.
