CHICAGO – A widow alleges the negligence of a Palos Heights care facility led to injuries that contributed to the death of her husband.

Karen Kaczynski, as special administrator of the estate of Ronald Kaczynski, filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against Manor Care of Palos Heights IL LLC, alleging wrongful death and other counts.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 20, 2018, Ronald Kaczynski was admitted to ManorCare in Palos Heights to receive rehabilitation.

The suit states while there, the decedent developed multiple skin breakdowns, edema and sepsis. The plaintiff alleges the injuries contributed to his death in March 2018.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to protect him from neglect, failed to administer proper general nursing care, failed to assess and address his risk for the development of pressure sores and skin breakdown, and failed to implement a comprehensive plan of care.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks more than $50,000. She is represented by Vivian Tarver-Varnado of AMB Law Group LLC in Chicago.
