Sinai Health System, doctor named in suit over infant's injuries

CHICAGO – A Chicago physician and a hospital are alleged to have negligently failed to order appropriate procedures during a labor and delivery, causing injuries to the infant.

Katrina Sept, the child's mother, filed a complaint on Jan. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against Sinai Health System and physician Charles E. Lampley alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the child was born on Sept. 6, 2017, and immediately required emergency care from the defendants. The suit states as a result of the defendants' negligence, the child suffered Erb's palsy and other injuries.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to order appropriate procedures or intervene in a timely manner.

The plaintiff seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by James T. Ball of Ball Law Group in Chicago.
