CHICAGO – A man is suing a Cook County hospital over his wife's infection-related death.

Charles Jordan, as special administrator of the estate of Lisa Jordan, filed a complaint on Jan. 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers; and physicians Maysa Hussain and Ajay Bajaj, alleging wrongful death.

According to the complaint, in January 2017, Lisa Jordan went to the emergency room with symptoms that included vomiting and weakness. The suit states she received a differential diagnosis of acute pancreatitis with the suggestion of biliary obstruction and was discharged Jan. 21, 2017.

The suit states Lisa Jordan was found unresponsive at home and was pronounced dead three days later.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to adequately and completely address Jordan's condition and complaints, failed to diagnose infection or sepsis in a timely manner and failed to properly treat pancreatitis.

The plaintiff seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs of suit. He is represented by Mark R. McKenna of Hurley McKenna & Mertz PC in Chicago.
