CHICAGO – A patient has filed suit against two physicians over allegations two surgeries caused injuries to her feet.

Maureen Walsh filed a complaint on Jan. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against physicians Keith D. Sklar and Samantha Ann Sklar; and Foot First Podiatry, alleging professional negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges in January 2017, she underwent surgery on her left foot and had the same surgery on her right foot a month later. She alleges she complained of pain during her post-op visits with the defendants caused by the screws used during the procedures. The suit states she later needed another surgery.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants performed the surgery while failing to appreciate the severity of her condition, failed to utilize proper surgical technique and failed to adequately assess and monitor post-operatively the placement of screws in her feet.

The plaintiff seeks damages in excess of all applicable minimum jurisdictional limits of the court. She is represented by Steven Armbruster of The Vrdolyak Law Group LLC in Chicago.
