CHICAGO — An independent administrator of the estate of Shaun Bass is suing an Oak Lawn hospital and others, over alleged maltreatment of her relative.

On Jan. 8, Helima Bass filed a complaint in Cook County Circuit Court against Advocate Christ Medical Center; RML Health Providers Ltd.; and Manor Care of Westmont Illinois, alleging they were negligent in the care and treatment of Shaun Bass.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Shaun Bass was neglected by the defendants when they failed to provide adequate medical and personal care. Shaun suffered injuries including but not limited to pain, disfigurement, and medical and related expenses.

The plaintiff alleges defendants knew or should have known that Shaun was at high risk for the development and deterioration of pressure sores. Shaun Bass died in September 2017.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks more than $50,000. She is represented by Michael Agruss of The Agruss Law Firm in Chicago.

The Cook County Circuit Court Case No. is 2019L000213.
