MAYER BROWN: Leading derivatives and fintech attorney Matthew Kluchenek joins Mayer Brown

Mayer Brown announced that leading derivatives and fintech attorney Matthew Kluchenek has joined the firm as a partner. He will be based in the firm’s Chicago office.

Mr. Kluchenek specializes in derivatives work, including enforcement and regulatory matters. He represents firms and individuals subject to investigation by government and self-regulatory agencies, including the CFTC, CME and US Department of Justice. He works closely with clients to assist them in navigating complex regulations under the Commodity Exchange Act, the Dodd-Frank Act and federal securities laws. Mr. Kluchenek advises clients on transactional matters, including on ISDA and other agreements, derivatives transactions, acquisitions, joint ventures and licensing arrangements. He advises companies, funds and dealers on, among other things, credit default swaps, futures and foreign exchange agreements. Mr. Kluchenek also works with new hedge funds with their formation work, particularly those that trade futures, securities and other financial instruments.

Mr. Kluchenek also specializes in advising clients on regulatory matters arising in connection with cryptocurrency, such as helping clients build cryptocurrency trading operations and working with exchange clients on the derivatives applications of cryptocurrency.

Mr. Kluchenek is a great addition to Mayer Brown’s leading Capital Markets practice.
