CHICAGO — A man is suing Glenview Terrace Nursing Center and Advocate Medical Group, alleging negligence and wrongful death.
John F. Wagner filed a complaint on Jan. 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants over the treatment of Helen T. Wagner.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges in August 2017, Helen Wagner was admitted to defendants' long-term care facility in Glenview in good condition. However, she allegedly developed oliguria, suffered abdominal pain and tenderness, and developed peritonitis and septic shock while in defendants' care. The complaint alleges defendants improper placed a feeding tube resulting in the tube's contents leaking into her abdominal cavity, which allegedly caused her death a week later.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks more than $50,000 plus attorney fees and costs. He is represented by Jeffrey Martin of Martin Law in Arlington Heights.
