Tenant sues Manage Chicago Investments following fall on porch steps

CHICAGO — A tenant is suing a landlord and property managers after she allegedly fell down her front porch steps.

Melissa Manning filed a complaint on Jan. 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against Kina Champion, Glinda Gunn, Johnnie L. Turner, and Manage Chicago Investments LLC, alleging they carelessly and negligently owned, operated and managed the premises.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges in January 2017, she tripped and fell on a defective step while walking down the steps on her front porch. She sustained severe and permanent injuries and has expended large sums of money for medical care and services. 

The plaintiff seeks more than $50,000 plus costs of suit. She is represented by Robert A. Langendorf of Chicago.
