CHICAGO — A woman is suing a long-term care facility, citing alleged medical malpractice.
Donna E. Keller filed a complaint on Jan. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against Oak Brook Care, alleging the long-term care facility failed to protect her from neglect.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges in March 2017, while she was a resident of defendant's facility in Oak Brook, a surgical incision on her left leg opened, causing a heel pressure sore to deteriorate, requiring multiple debridements; deterioration of her physical, mental and psychosocial condition; loss of dignity and self-respect; poor quality of life; and unnecessary pain and suffering as a result of the alleged negligence in providing plaintiff with adequate care and treatment.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks more than $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs. She is represented by Margaret Battersby Black and Nicholas Emerson of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
