CHICAGO — A man who suffered a knee injury is suing medical facilities, citing alleged negligence.

William G. Brooks Jr. filed a complaint on Jan. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against physician Gregory C. Bryniczka; Northwest Podiatry Center Ltd.; and Presence St. Joseph Hospital, alleging the defendants breached their duty to act in a reasonably careful way when rendering services.

According to the complaint, in January 2017, Brooks underwent surgery for his left foot at defendants' facilities, during which he was given anesthesia and transferred and moved before, during and after surgery. Plaintiff claims he complained of pain in his left knee following surgery and, after further testing, it was revealed that he had sustained a torn meniscus that required treatment, including another surgery.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks more than  $50,000, plus costs. He is represented by Charles Hornewer of Hornewer Law Firm in Chicago.

The Cook County Circuit Court Case No. is 19-L-000850.
