CHICAGO — A man is suing The Waterford Care Center and others over the care received by a relative, who he said developed a pressure ulcer which contributed to his death.

Daniel Ducasse filed a complaint on Jan. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against Waterford, as well as defendants Damen Healthcare Group; Jk Management Group; Niles Nursing and Rehabilitation Center; Infinity Healthcare Management of Illinois;, and several nurses, citing alleged violations of the Nursing Home Care Act, Survival Act and Wrongful Death Act.

Ducasse alleged the defendants were negligent in supervising and assisting Reynold Ducasse's daily living.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges between December 2016, and December 2017, while a resident of the facility, Reynold Ducasse developed a pressure ulcer which allegedly contributed to his death.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and more than $50,000. He is represented by Andrew J. Thut and David M. Bulgarelli of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
