CHICAGO — A patient's surviving relative is suing nursing facilities, citing alleged negligence.

Patricia Danko, as independent administrator to the estate of Louis Danko, filed a complaint on Jan. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against Generations at Elmwood Park, and Generations HC Network LLC for alleged violation of the Nursing Home Care Act.

According to the complaint, between September 2015 and November 2017, Louis Danko was a resident at the defendants' long-term facility. However, during his residency, Louis Danko allegedly suffered from the development and deterioration of multiple pressure sores that led to an infection.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to protect Louis Danko from neglect.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and more than $50,000. She is represented by Steven Levin and Megan Shore of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court Case No.19-L-000824.
