CHICAGO — A man is suing Belhaven Nursing And Rehab Center, citing alleged violation of the Nursing Home Care Act.

Richard Smith, by his duly appointed power of attorney Kimberly Lansdown, filed a complaint on Jan. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, between July 2017 and January 2019, plaintiff fell on several occasions while he was a resident of the facility, resulting in injuries, including facial and cranial lacerations that required hospitalization and stitches; and a fractured right hip. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and more than $50,000 plus attorney fees and costs. He is represented by Tiffany Alberty of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates in Chicago.
