CHICAGO — A patient is suing physician M. Scott Peckler, and North Suburban Surgical Consultants LLC, citing alleged negligence.

Jeffrey S. Goldberg filed a complaint on Jan. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging the defendants penetrated his aorta with an instrument during a laparoscopic hernia-repair operation.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide standard professional care during an operation, and failed to properly supervise the doctor and support personnel during his surgical procedure and after-surgery care.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks more than $50,000 plus costs of action. He is represented by David Hepplewhite of Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court Case No. 19-L-851.
