CHICAGO — A man is suing over injuries he allegedly suffered in an elevator accident.
Zachary Smith filed a complaint on Jan. 23 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging defendants Park Towers Owner LLC, Morgan Management LLC, Grand Atlas Property Management LLC, and Thyssenkrupp North America Inc. failed to properly maintain an elevator at an apartment building in south suburban Richton Park.
According to the complaint, Smith tripped when he was getting on and riding the elevator because it allegedly failed to properly level, crashed and suddenly stopped, causing him to be thrown inside the elevator.
The plaintiff seeks more than $50,000 plus the cost of suit. He is represented by Scott DeSalvo, of Chicago.
