CHICAGO — A surviving relative is suing nursing home facilities, citing alleged professional negligence and vicarious liability.

Pamela Hall, as independent administrator of the estate of Anita H. Hall, filed a complaint on Feb. 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against Lincoln Park Skilled Nursing Facility LLC; The Grove at Lincoln Park Living & Rehab Center LLC,and others, alleging the defendants disregarded their duties in treating their residents in a manner that equaled or exceeded the professional standard of care.

According to the complaint, Anita Hall was admitted at defendants' facility in February 2017 as she was legally disabled and was unable to manage her personal or business affairs. Pamela Hall claims during Hall's residency she suffered influenza A, pneumonia and severe sepsis as defendants' staff allegedly failed to properly evaluate her daily condition. Hall died a few days later.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in excess of the court's jurisdictional requisite, plus costs and attorney's fees. She is represented by Benjamin Carter of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
