CHICAGO — A couple is suing Vrdolyak Law Group, citing alleged professional negligence.

Joseph S. and Jodi F. Hanna filed a complaint on Feb. 1 in Cook County Circuit Court against the firm and Peter T. Vrdolyak, alleging defendants misrepresented the wishes of plaintiffs in settlement negotiations.

According to the complaint, on March 12, 2015, the Hannas retained Vrdolyak to represent them in a personal injury lawsuit related to a trucking accident.

However, plaintiffs claim defendants allegedly put their own interests above their clients, prematurely accepting a settlement offer without authorization, which resulted in defendants earning a fee more than four times the amount the plaintiffs netted from the settlement.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek more than $50,000 and other relief. They are represented by Kristi Browne and Peter Evans of Patterson Law Firm in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court Case No. 19-L-001096.
