CHICAGO — A man is suing Generations at Regency LLC, citing an alleged violation of the Nursing Home Care Act, common law negligence and wrongful death, stemming from the death of his mother.

John Eliopoulos filed a complaint on Feb. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the long-term care facility was negligent in providing care for his mother, Helen Eliopoulos.

According to the complaint, in August 2017, while Eliopoulos was being moved from her bed by an employee of Generations at Regency LLC, she allegedly was dropped or otherwise allowed to fall. Helen allegedly struck her head, leading to her death that day.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and more than $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs. He is represented by Mitchell Friedman of Morici, Figlioli & Associates in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court Case No. 2019L001686.
