CHICAGO — A widow is suing Dupage Medical Group, and others, alleging doctors and others associated with the medical practice misdiagnosed her husband's conditions, leading to his death.
Jeanmarie Cervone filed a complaint on Feb. 14, in Cook County Circuit Court.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges from February-May 2017, James Cervone began receiving chemotherapy as a treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma.
A scan of Cervone's lungs in April 2017 revealed signs of possible infections. Cervone complained of dry cough the following day and shortness of breath. He received chemotherapy which included Bleomycin a few days later. After several days of hospitalization, Cervone died, allegedly as a result of Bleomycin-induced problems with his lungs.
The plaintiff alleges Dupage Medical Group Ltd and physician Daniel J. Frank, and others, failed to timely recognize the problems, discontinue the chemotherapy and treat the condition or refer him to a pulmonologist.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an amount in excess of the court's jurisdictional requisite. She is represented by Peter D. Hoste of Leahy and Hoste LLC in Chicago.
