CHICAGO — A special estate administrator is suing Boeing, over her relative's death in an airliner crash in Indonesia.

Tassya Dianti Puteri filed a complaint on Feb. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against The Boeing Co., alleging the aircraft manufacturer failed to provide a safe aircraft.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 29, 2018, Yuningtyas Upiek Kartikawati died when the aircraft manufactured by the defendant banked to the left and made a significant altitude shift, took a steep dive and plummeted into the Java Sea with so much force that the metal fixtures disintegrated. The crash took place just a few minutes after Lion Air Flight JT610 departed the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Indonesia, killing all 189 on board.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against Boeing in a sum in excess of the limits of the court, plus interest and costs of action. She is represented by Peter Flowers and Jason Webster of Meyers & Flowers LLC in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court Case No.19-L-1980.
