CHICAGO — A patient is suing a medical center following a slip and fall, citing alleged negligence.

Silvia T. Garduno filed a complaint on Feb. 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, alleging the defendant breached its duty to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 22, 2017, Garduno was at the hospital after receiving treatment when she allegedly slipped and fell on liquid on the floor in the women's restroom. Plaintiff claims the liquid came from the sink that had leaked in the restroom.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and more than $50,000, plus costs of suit. She is represented by Charles Romaker and Fernando Bustamante of The Romaker Law Firm in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court Case No. 19-L-001955.
