Thompson Coburn LLP issued the following announcement on June 4.
Thompson Coburn is proud to announce that Lesley Wynes has joined the Firm as Director of Partner Recruiting and Integration. Lesley, who will be based in the Firm’s Chicago office, comes to Thompson Coburn from Northwestern University, where for 15 years she served in a number of senior leadership roles at the University’s Kellogg School of Management and Pritzker School of Law.
At Thompson Coburn, Lesley will assume a new director-level position focused on the successful recruitment and integration of new partners.
“We created this position because we are focused on continuing to grow our Firm and doing everything we can to help our new partners flourish,” said Thompson Coburn Chairman Tom Minogue. “Lesley’s background is at the intersection of business and the law, and we’re delighted that she is joining us to create an exceptional program for our new partners.”
Lesley most recently served as the Assistant Dean for Academic Experience at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, where she led a team responsible for the creation and delivery of customized tools, resources and support to enhance the academic experience of more than 3,000 graduate students across three campuses and multiple degree programs. At the University’s School of Law, Lesley served as the Assistant Dean responsible for curriculum implementation and managed the recruiting and onboarding of adjunct faculty. Since 2004, she has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor, teaching courses in legal interpretation, communication and reasoning.
“When a partner moves to a new firm, it’s often a leap of faith for them and their clients,” said Roger Flower, Chief Operating Officer at Thompson Coburn. “Lesley is the perfect person to advise new partners during that important transition, connect them with the Firm’s extensive business development resources, and help them achieve success on their own terms.
Lesley earned her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. Early in her professional career she was an associate with both the Wildman Harrold and McDermott, Will & Emery firms in Chicago.
“I started my career in the practice of law and am thrilled to return to a firm like Thompson Coburn that is totally committed to the long-term growth and success of its attorneys and clients,” said Lesley. “I look forward to playing a key role in bringing new talent to our Firm and helping new and recently arrived partners forge connections here and within the business communities in all five of our offices.”
