Clark Hill PLC issued the following announcement on June 21.

Ray J. Koenig III was recently elected to the prestigious position of Secretary of the Chicago Bar Association. Ray was sworn in at the 146th Annual Meeting on June 18, 2019, which was keynoted by Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Ray is the first openly LGBTQ person to hold an officer position at The Chicago Bar Association, and joins what is now the most diverse leadership group in the history of The Chicago Bar Association. Founded in 1874, The Chicago Bar Association is one of the oldest and most active metropolitan bar associations in the United States. The Association's voluntary membership of nearly 18,000 consists largely of lawyers and judges from Cook County and the State of Illinois.

Ray serves as the Member in Charge of the Chicago office and on the Firm’s Executive Committee, and is a Member in the Firm’s Litigation and Estate Planning & Probate groups. He practices in Estate & Trust Litigation, for which he has been repeatedly selected as a Super Lawyer or Rising Star since 2010, including the last two years as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Illinois. Ray was also recently recognized as a Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Gen X Leader due to his leadership in various communities, including at the non-profit agency Chicago House, of which he has served on the board for over 10 years.
