Baker & McKenzie LLP issued the following announcement on July 5.
Baker McKenzie has appointed Antonio Russo as chair of its market-leading global tax practice group. He succeeds Simone Musa, whose term as chair recently concluded.
Antonio Russo, based in Amsterdam, specializes in transfer pricing design and implementation. He has more than 20 years of extensive experience in tax planning, structuring and restructuring engagements, and has performed Transfer Pricing studies for clients in numerous industries. He is an internationally recognized expert and author in intercompany financing transactions, in valuation of investments and intangible assets. Antonio assists clients in dispute resolution and in the negotiation of Advance Pricing Agreements and Mutual Agreement Procedures.
"It is a privilege to take on this role from Simone, who has done an outstanding job," said Antonio. "We already have a great platform, which Baker McKenzie has developed over 70 years. We have great ambitions and intend to further strengthen our practice. We need to be ready to anticipate the changing needs of our clients as they navigate this fast-evolving global tax environment. This requires experience, bench strength and a deep understanding of the practical impact of new policies and rules on multinational companies and international investors."
