Clark Hill PLC issued the following announcement on July 8.
Clark Hill PLC announced the addition of Kevin Morse as a Member of the firm’s Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Law Unit in its Chicago office. Morse was formerly a Partner at Saul Ewing Arnstein and Lehr in the Chicago office.
“Expanding the restructuring and bankruptcy practice on a national level is a strategic priority for the firm,” said Scott N. Schreiber, co-leader of Clark Hill’s Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy Law Unit. “Kevin brings an impressive array of skills as a bankruptcy and restructuring lawyer to the team, and we are delighted that he’s joining us.”
“Kevin is a great addition to the Chicago office, and will be an asset to the clients that we serve both regionally and nationally,” said Ray Koenig III, Managing Member of Clark Hill's Chicago office. “In addition to his skills as a bankruptcy lawyer, he brings in-depth experience in the food and agriculture industry which we serve across practices in the region.”
Morse’s practice primarily focuses on advising clients on bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, from Chapter 11 organizational restructurings to Chapter 7 winding down of operations and liquidation. He represents companies on a national level in a range of industries, including financial institutions, not-for-profits and individuals, in insolvency matters, including those involving complex litigation and transactional issues. Morse’s representation in Chapter 7 cases includes the representation of Chapter 7 trustees in the sale, liquidation, and recovery of assets on behalf of the estate, including through litigation, and the representation of businesses and corporate debtors.
Morse has handled numerous bankruptcy matters for clients in the food and agriculture industry, including farm operations, grocery stores and franchised family restaurants, and has represented debtors-in-possession, post-confirmation trustees, and unsecured creditors' committees. Given his deep knowledge in this industry, Morse also handles growth-stage investments, trademark litigation and the sale and purchase of businesses.
“Joining Clark Hill is an excellent opportunity to work with a firm that has a strong commitment to expand its bankruptcy and reorganization practice portfolio,” said Morse. “The team and firm overall have an impressive reputation in the market and I’m thrilled to be joining them.”
Morse earned his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law and his B.A. cum laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Following law school, Morse was a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Thomas B. Donovan in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles.
