Clark Hill attorney Donald A. Shindler will speak at the Practicing Law Institute’s (PLI) 21st Annual Commercial Real Estate Institute program on October 23, 2019. The program, to be held at The University of Chicago’s Gleacher Center from October 23-24, 2019, will feature legal authorities on commercial real estate from across the country. Participants will be provided the opportunity to learn about a multitude of commercial real estate topics while networking with industry leaders. Topics of discussion include, but are not limited to: using cryptocurrency in real estate transactions, co-working arrangements, and commercial leasing. Shindler will co-present on mortgage financing, which will provide an overview of real estate financing transactions and documentation, borrower and lender motivations, and legal opinions.
Donald A. Shindler is Senior Counsel in Clark Hill’s Real Estate group, serves as General Counsel for the firm’s Chicago office and as Co-Chair of the firm’s Food, Beverage & Hospitality Industry team. Shindler provides strategic counseling and advice to clients on matters including business formation, corporate governance, ownership succession issues, business planning, the preparation and negotiation of a variety of contracts and transactional documents. He also assists hospitality clients (hotels, resorts, restaurants, spas, and food service companies) in corporate and real estate transactions and counseling, focusing on acquisitions and sales, financing, restructuring and workouts, hospitality, leasing, construction and energy-related matters.
