Cozen O’Connor attorney Wendy Enerson, a member of the firm’s Global Insurance Department in the Chicago office, will lead a webinar entitled, “A Touch of Class: Defending Insurance Class Actions,” on Wednesday, November 13, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Joining her in the presentation will be Cozen O’Connor attorney Alexandra Schultz, an associate in the firm’s West Palm Beach office.
With an uptick in the number of insurance class actions, defense attorneys, general counsel, and insurance professionals more than ever need to know the ins and outs of a successful defense against a class action. The webinar conversation will focus on defining a class action, class action jurisdiction, class action requirements and types, types of class actions – additional requirements, defeating class certification , class settlement and total loss litigation roundup.
Enerson’s practice encompasses a broad range of complex litigation matters, including insurance and consumer class action defense, and in particular, cases arising under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, shareholder disputes, securities violations and general business litigation. She has successfully represented multiple insurance companies in the defense of class actions alleging improper/unlawful claims handling and underwriting practices, as well as institutional bad faith.
She received her law degree, cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois – Chicago.
