LOCKE LORD LLP: Locke Lord Chicago Partner Bilal Zaheer Selected as Best Lawyers Under 40 Honoree by National Asian Pacific American Bar Association

Locke Lord LLP issued the following announcement on Nov. 5.

Bilal Zaheer, a Partner in Locke Lord’s Chicago office and member of the Firm’s Business Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group, has been named to the 2019 Best Lawyers Under 40 list by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). Zaheer is one of only 15 Best Lawyers Under 40 honorees to be recognized at NAPABA’s 2019 Convention on Nov. 7.

The NAPABA Best Lawyers Under 40 list honors talented individuals within the Asian Pacific American legal community who have achieved prominence and distinction in their fields and demonstrated a strong commitment to Asian Pacific American civic or community affairs.

Throughout his career, Zaheer has been dedicated to furthering diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. He currently serves on the Board of the National Association of Muslim Lawyers. He has also served as Co-Chair of NAPABA’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Litigation Committee. As a 2017 Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, Zaheer participated in conferences and projects aimed at increasing leadership and relationship skills for lawyers committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession. He also previously served as Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary of the Associate Board of the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms and was selected for its inaugural, highly competitive “Rate My Pitch” program, winning an award for best presentation.

An experienced trial lawyer, Zaheer focuses his practice on business litigation and dispute resolution in state and federal court as well as arbitration and mediation. He advises companies facing disputes arising from complex corporate and commercial transactions. Zaheer has represented clients in disputes around the country involving contract claims under the common law and Uniform Commercial Code, matters of corporate governance, director and officer liability, business and securities fraud and unfair competition claims.
