CHICAGO — A pet supply company is facing a class action suit filed by an Illinois woman who alleges the company's Redford Naturals cat food does not contain ground flaxseed as represented on its label.

Caryn Ash filed a complaint Nov. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against PSP Distribution LLC, PSP Franchising LLC and PSP Group LLC alleging violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Trade Practices Act and consumer fraud laws of various states and the District of Columbia.

Ash claims that PSP's Redford Naturals wet cat food is fraudulently represented on its website and labels as containing ground flaxseed which causes consumers to pay a "premium" price for the products.

Ash seeks monetary relief, trial by jury and other relief. She is represented by attorneys Thomas Zimmerman Jr., Sharon Harris, Matthew De Re and Nikolas Hagman, of The Zimmerman Law Offices PC in Chicago.
