COZEN O'CONNOR: Attorney Elizabeth Olivera Named to Board of Directors of the National Filipino American Lawyers Association

Cozen O’Connor made the following announcement on November 19:

Attorney Elizabeth Olivera, an associate in the firm’s national Labor & Employment practice in Chicago, has been named to the Board of Directors of the National Filipino American Lawyers Association (NFALA). In this role, she will serve as the Alternate Regional Governor for the Central Region. In addition, Olivera has also been appointed Co-chair of the NFALA  Young Lawyers Committee.

As the Alternate Regional Governor for NFALA, Olivera will serve as a liaison between members in the Central region and the National association. As Chair of the NFALA Young Lawyers Committee, she will work with junior attorneys on  opportunities to get involved in and support the organization.

Olivera will continue in her role on the Board of Directors of the Filipino American Lawyers Association of Chicago (FALA), where, in addition to her Board duties, she is responsible for community outreach between the association and the local law schools, helping to coordinate mentoring and networking opportunities with law students.

Olivera’s practice focuses on employment-based immigration for institutional clients and multinational corporations. She works with clients from a wide variety of industries, including technology, engineering, and manufacturing. She assists clients in acquiring employment-based visas for key employees so they will be authorized for employment in the United States.

Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor, Olivera was an extern to the Honorable Timothy A. Barnes, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Illinois. She received her law degree from DePaul University College of Law (J.D., 2018), where she was an associate editor of the DePaul Law Review and served as the Student Bar Association vice president, secretary and a first-year senator. Olivera received her undergraduate degree from Drake University (B.S., 2015).
