HSPRD Attorney Lauren Buford is one of the co-chairs of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois (WBAI) Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and on November 19, she will be moderating the final part of a three-part series entitled “Diversity and Race 103: What We Have Learned and What Comes Next” to educate attorneys about diversity and race in the legal profession. The final part of the series will focus on how implicit bias and systemic racism manifest in the workplace and what organizations can do to combat racism and create more diverse, equal, and inclusive work environments. It is not required to have attended the first two series to sign up for the final talk.
Lauren Phyllis Buford is an Associate with Hughes Socol Piers Resnick & Dym, Ltd. Her practice focuses on the defense of hospitals, nurses, and physicians in medical malpractice matters. She joined the firm in 2018. Over the course of her career, she has obtained the dismissal of clients during the discovery phase of litigation, resolved disputed claims through mediation, and successfully tried jury and bench trials.
