HEPLERBROOM: DuChateau Named Editor in Chief of Legal Journal

Heplerbroom issued the following announcement on Apr. 29.

James DuChateau has been named Editor in Chief of IDC Quarterly, the journal of the Illinois Defense Counsel (IDC). IDC is the premier organization of defense attorneys in Illinois. Its mission is to advance the interests of the defense bar by ensuring civil justice with integrity, civility, and professional competence. IDC Quarterly is distributed not only to IDC members, but also to all Illinois state court judges and legislators. It has been recognized as a premier state bar journal.

DuChateau, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial and insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts throughout the Midwest and Mountain West. His practice also includes the representation of financial institution clients in both UCC and REO matters, as well as trade secret and restrictive covenant litigation. He has been named an Emerging Lawyer by Illinois Leading Lawyers and an Illinois Super Lawyer, as well as being honored as IDC’s Volunteer of the Year and the Legal Assistance Foundation’s Pro Bono Volunteer of the Year.

DuChateau earned his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School (n/k/a UIC John Marshall Law School). He also holds bachelor’s degrees in History and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and is admitted to the bars of the Supreme Court of Illinois; the various U.S. District Courts for Colorado, Wisconsin, Indiana, Missouri, and Illinois; and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
