Brigid Ndege Appointed to Northern Illinois Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee

Chicago Associate Brigid Ndege was recently appointed to serve on the Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee for the Northern District of Illinois for a two-year term.  

The Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee seeks to promote efficient and open communication among the judges of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois and attorneys appearing before it regarding issues that may affect the court. These issues include local procedures and rules, standards of professionalism and etiquette, and the general state of practice within the Northern District of Illinois. All members of the Liaison Committee serve as a point of contact for practitioners and other interested parties to communicate relevant ideas and concerns so that such communications can be presented to the Bankruptcy Judge Committee Members for review and consideration. 

Commenting on her appointment, Ms. Ndege said, "I'm excited to be part of the Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee and look forward to working with members of the Illinois bankruptcy bar as well as judges of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. I look forward to having a successful and meaningful term." 

Ms. Ndege is a member of the Bankruptcy & Insolvency Practice. She has extensive experience representing creditors’ committees, creditor groups, real estate development firms, and other entities in all aspects of restructuring stressed and distressed companies. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Chicago CARE (Credit Abuse Resistance Education), an organization that educates students about the consequences of consumer credit abuse through presentations.
