Polsinelli PC issued the following announcement on Jan. 27.

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli is pleased to announce it has earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index, the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. Polsinelli joins the ranks of over 840 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year. This is Polsinelli’s fourth consecutive year to earn a perfect score on the CEI report.

“We are pleased to see the Human Rights Campaign Foundation consistently recognize Polsinelli as a ‘Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality’,” said Polsinelli Chairman and CEO Chase Simmons. “By receiving this distinction, it emphasizes our core values of diversity and inclusion. We put intentionality behind this. We believe it is important to create an inclusive environment for our employees to bring their best and most authentic selves to the workplace.”

Polsinelli’s score reflects a commitment to LGBTQ+ workplace equality, with respect to tangible policies, benefits, and practices. The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under the four central pillars of non-discrimination policies across business entities, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility.

“We are honored to receive a 100 percent score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index,” said Polsinelli Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer Philip G. Hampton, II. “It is an important acknowledgement of the environment we have cultivated to maintain our inclusive workplace culture. We plan to continue demonstrating this commitment through our policies and actions at Polsinelli.”

Polsinelli also recently achieved the Mansfield Rule 4.0 Certification Plus, which measures diversity in law firms and aims to boost diversity in leadership.

Diversity, equity and inclusion are among the core values of Polsinelli, used to inform, enlighten and shape strategy and actions that define the firm’s business. Polsinelli defines diversity to include people from various ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability and socio-economic backgrounds, and defines equity as providing every employee with the skills, support and encouragement that they need to become their best selves, both within and outside the workplace. The firm defines inclusion as the comprehensive, coordinated and complete integration of all persons across the various sectors of its business enterprise as contributors, leaders and agents of change.

“When the Human Rights Campaign Foundation created the Corporate Equality Index 20 years ago, we dreamed that LGBTQ+ workers—from the factory floor to corporate headquarters, in big cities and small towns—could have access to the policies and benefits needed to thrive and live life authentically,” said Jay Brown, Human Rights Campaign Senior Vice President of Programs, Research and Training. “We are proud that the Corporate Equality Index paved the way to that reality for countless LGBTQ+ workers in America and abroad. But there is still more to do, which is why we are raising the bar yet again to create more equitable workplaces and a better tomorrow for LGBTQ+ workers everywhere. Congratulations to Polsinelli for achieving the title of ‘best places to work for LGBTQ+ equality’ and working to advance inclusion in the workplace.”
