Paul is an accomplished litigator and has extensive experience litigating product liability and complex commercial matters. Over the past 20 years, Paul has protected the interests of local, regional, national, and international clients in high-stakes disputes throughout the country, and routinely provides pre-dispute counseling and risk management advice to clients in the pharmaceutical, medical device, automotive, food and beverage, construction, and real estate industries.
Paul has served as coordinating and national counsel for some of the world’s largest companies, litigating high-profile product liability matters in the most challenging of jurisdictions. In addition to his pharmaceutical and medical device clients, Paul defends manufacturers of consumer and industrial products against claims of product defects. He has advocated for clients in putative class actions and multidistrict litigations involving hundreds of cases, including going toe-to-toe with the most prominent mass tort plaintiff attorneys and firms in the U.S. He has also negotiated resolutions to hundreds of claims.
With experience in many types of disputes, Paul has a perspective to navigate complex and difficult litigation, including bet the company matters. Paul seeks early resolution when in the client’s best interests, often disposing of matters through motions to dismiss or motions for summary judgment prior to trial. He received his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and his B.A. from the University of California-Irvine.
