McGuireWoods’ Amy Manning Honored as Midwest Trailblazer by The American Lawyer

Award

McGuireWoods Chicago partner Amy Manning has been included on The American Lawyer’s list of 2022 Midwest Trailblazers. The list recognizes “agents of change” based in the Midwest who have moved the needle in the legal industry.

Chair of McGuireWoods’ Antitrust, Trade & Commercial Litigation Department, Manning handles criminal and civil antitrust matters for international and U.S. companies, as well as individuals, in federal and state courts and arbitration tribunals throughout the United States. She previously served on the firm’s executive committee, on the board of partners, as the managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Chicago office, as co-chair of the life sciences industry group and as co-chair of the firm’s recruiting committee.

Manning co-founded the Chicago Women Antitrust Lawyers Network — the first professional networking group for women antitrust lawyers in the area — to enhance members’ contact with heavy-hitters in the legal industry and share advice on advancement. She also plays an integral role in McGuireWoods’ annual Women’s Leadership Development Forum, which helps senior women associates develop leadership skills to transition to partner and other senior roles.

Manning serves as vice chair of the 2022 ABA Antitrust Section International Cartel Workshop — the premier international antitrust enforcement conference. She also chairs the ABA Antitrust Section Diversity Long Range Planning Committee. She twice chaired the American Diabetes Association Chicago board and is a current board member. She also is a board member of the Chicago Bar Foundation.

“It is rewarding to be honored along with exceptional lawyers and leaders in the Midwest,” said Manning. “I am proud of my work for clients and grateful for the opportunity to promote the progress of women in antitrust law.”

Manning has been honored by the legal industry and business community for her many contributions, including recognition in Crain’s Chicago Business’ Notable Gen X Leaders in Accounting, Consulting & Law and Global Competition Review’s “Top Women in Antitrust.”
