Private Equity Partner Paul Hogan Joins Holland & Knight in Chicago

Paul R. Hogan, a highly regarded mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity attorney in Chicago, has joined Holland & Knight as a partner. He was previously with Eversheds Sutherland and, prior to that, served as secretary and general counsel of a publicly traded holding company. Mr. Hogan joins the firm shortly after the arrival of a nationally recognized team of nine energy-focused partners, also from Eversheds, who are located in Atlanta, Houston, New York and Washington, D.C.

"We are pleased that Paul has joined the rest of his team and will bring his extensive experience to our national private equity practice," said David Barkus, co-leader of the firm's Corporate, M&A and Securities Practice Group and leader of the firm's Private Equity Team. "The team has experienced phenomenal growth in the past few years, and we are especially interested in building more connections in the Chicago area, which is home to many top private equity funds. Paul's relationships and reputation will help us achieve this goal."

"I'm excited about the significant opportunities that my team and I will have at Holland & Knight," said Mr. Hogan. "The firm has shown that it is very focused on building its premier private equity practice, and I look forward to being part of that growth."

Mr. Hogan focuses on corporate matters and strategic transactions, with an emphasis on M&A, joint ventures, and equity and debt financings. He advises clients on all matters of corporate governance and risk management and has extensive experience guiding clients through complex transactions. These include acquisitions and dispositions for stocks, assets and divisions, along with joint ventures, strategic alliances and other similar transactions.

Mr. Hogan received a J.D. degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and a B.A. degree from Indiana University.
