In 2021, Clark Hill reorganized its Cannabis Industry Group under the leadership of Robert Hoban and Sander Zagzebski. After two years of very hard client-oriented work, Clark Hill’s Cannabis Industry Group has been recognized by several organizations for being an international leader in helping businesses navigate the ever-changing hemp and marijuana landscapes.
On Sept. 27 at the 2nd Annual Benzinga Cannabis Awards in Chicago, Clark Hill was recognized as the “Best Cannabis Law Firm.”
“We’re thrilled and honored to be recognized for our growth and exceptional client service,” said Clark Hill Cannabis Industry Group Leader Robert Hoban. “This has truly been a firmwide effort to take our offerings to a national and global level, and we’re excited to build on this momentum.”
Just two days prior to the Benzinga conference, Crain’s Green Market Report named Clark Hill a “Notable Leader in Cannabis” for 2023.
The firm is also nominated for an EMJAY award in the category of Top Cannabis Law Firm. The EMJAYS will be announced on Nov. 30 as part of MJBizCon in Las Vegas.
In legal publications, Hoban was named a “Top 200 Global Cannabis Leader,” and the firm’s Cannabis team was ranked in Band 3 by Chambers USA in its nationwide 2023 rankings.
“It’s a great time to be involved in the Cannabis industry, and we’re humbled to be named among the best by so many organizations,” Hoban said.
Hoban and his team of deeply experienced attorneys (plus several staff members) joined Clark Hill in July 2021 to help grow the firm’s Cannabis group, which has expanded firmwide over the past two years. As part of its growth, the firm recently moved to a new location in Denver to double its square footage and signal its intent to continue to grow its client offerings in the region.
