Bowman concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, primarily representing clients in disputes involving real estate and financial services. He represents national lenders, loan servicers, and debt buyers in disputes to enforce commercial loan agreements and defend lender liability actions.

“Reas’ years of experience trying cases in state and federal courts further deepens the bench of our powerhouse litigation team,” said Benesch Firmwide Managing Partner Gregg A. Eisenberg. “He is someone who can deftly guide clients through the legal system while achieving exceptional results, whether that be recouping a financial institution’s investment on a defaulted mortgage loan, protecting a property developer’s real estate from mechanics liens, or efficiently resolving commercial lease disputes.”

Bowman represents clients in all phases of litigation, handling trials, appeals, arbitrations, and mediations. He litigates cases throughout Illinois, and his appellate experience includes successfully briefing and arguing more than two dozen appeals in state and federal appellate courts.

“I’ve always believed in providing my clients with clear and realistic assessments of the legal issues they’re facing,” said Bowman. “The Benesch team has a similarly business-minded approach. They’re also well known for developing innovative strategies and that’s been a hallmark of my practice, as well. I’m excited to join a firm with such an  entrepreneurial spirit.”

Since launching a national growth strategy in 2015 and entering the Chicago market in 2016, Benesch has consistently ranked as one of the nation’s fastest growing law firms. Bowman received his B.A. from DePauw University and holds a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
