CHICAGO – A pedestrian who was allegedly struck by a driver making an illegal turn has filed an injury lawsuit.

Plaintiff Elizabeth Marshall filed the lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against defendant Marieta Fisniku, citing allegations of negligence.

According to court documents, on Dec. 21, 2021, Marshall was crossing Wabash Avenue in Chicago on a green walk signal when Fisniku turned her vehicle into the intersection during a red light and struck Marshall, causing her serious injury.

Marshall claims that Fisniku was negligent, including her failure to yield the right of way, driving at an excessive speed given the traffic conditions, and not taking evasive action to avoid the collision.

Marshall is seeking damages for pain, suffering, mental anguish, medical costs, disability and disfigurement, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented by attorney Anthony R. Elman of Elman Joseph Law Group, LLC, in Chicago.
