CHICAGO – A driver has filed a lawsuit against a car dealership employee, claiming that negligence led to a vehicle collision.

Plaintiff Helen Glasner filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against Oliver Perez and American Chevrolet, doing business as Advantage Chevrolet, citing allegations of negligence.

According to court documents, on Nov. 12, 2021, Glasner was traveling south on a frontage road in Hodgkins when her vehicle was struck by another vehicle driven by Perez. Glasner claims to have been injured in the accident. Perez is an employee of Advantage Chevrolet and was acting within the scope of his employment at the time of the incident. The complaint states that the company is responsible for the actions of its employees.

The lawsuit says that Perez negligently failed to operate his vehicle safely and in accordance with Illinois traffic laws, citing allegations of failure to yield, speeding, improper lane changes, and failure to maintain a proper lookout, among other allegations.

Glasner is seeking damages for her injuries and is represented by attorney G. Grant Dixon, III, of the Dixon Law Office in La Grange.
