CHICAGO – An Illinois woman has filed a negligence lawsuit against a driver following a rear-end collision in the Village of Vernon Hills.
Plaintiff Navi Dos filed the lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against defendant Luis A. Rico-Murillo, citing allegations of negligence.
According to court documents, on May 31, 2023, Dos was traveling westbound on U.S. 45 near the intersection of Woodley Parkway in the Village of Vernon Hills when she was rear-ended by driver Rico-Murillo. Dos alleges that she suffered severe injuries as a result.
Dos alleges that Rico-Murillo negligently failed to operate their vehicle safely, citing various violations of traffic regulations, including failure to maintain control, keep a proper lookout, drive at a reasonable speed, decrease speed to avoid collisions, provide an audible warning, and leave a reasonable following distance.
Dos is seeking damages for pain, suffering, loss of normal life, medical expenses plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented by attorney Keven P. Justen of the Law Office of Kevin P. Justen, P.C. in McHenry.
