CHICAGO – A woman has filed a negligence lawsuit against a driver, alleging that she was seriously injured in a vehicle accident in Chicago when the driver attempted to perform an illegal U-turn and struck her vehicle.
Plaintiff Barbara Marino filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against defendant Arthur Neuhaus, alleging negligence.
According to court documents, Marino claims that on December 6, 2021, she was driving southbound near the 6200 block of North Cicero Avenue in Chicago when Neuhaus, who was driving nearby in the same direction, attempted an illegal U-turn from the right lane to go northbound on Cicero Avenue and struck her vehicle, causing her physical injury.
Marino claims that Neuhaus breached his duty to exercise ordinary care for the safety of others on the roadway and cites various forms of negligence, including attempting an illegal U-turn, failing to keep a proper lookout, failing to yield the right-of-way, failing to provide proper warning, and general carelessness.
Marino is seeking $100,000 in damages for medical expenses and other losses, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Joseph Ryan of Gordon & Centracchio, L.L.C., in Chicago.
