Negligence lawsuit filed following alleged rear-end collision in Oak Forest

CHICAGO – A driver has filed an injury lawsuit against another driver following a rear-end vehicle collision in Oak Forest.

Plaintiff Michelle Maus filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against defendant Nixon Gadsby, citing allegations of negligence.

According to court documents, the complaint relates to a motor vehicle collision that occurred on December 3, 2021, at the intersection of Cicero Avenue and 167th Street in the City of Oak ForestMaus claims that she was stopped in traffic on 167th Street while heading east when Gadsby suddenly collided with the rear of her vehicle.

The lawsuit alleges Gadsby's negligence by operating his vehicle carelessly and negligently, driving at an excessive speed, failing to decrease his speed to avoid a collision, and violating traffic regulations.

Maus alleges that she sustained severe bodily injuries and is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for pain, suffering, mental anguish, physical impairment, disability, loss of normal life, loss of earnings, medical costs, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. 

The plaintiff is represented by attorney James Daubach of Daubach Law in Westmont.
